He has a broad and dynamic knowledge base that encompasses every aspect of selling on the web that includes the formulation of an initial concept though to the implementation of an eCommerce platform to effectively managing and maximising sales.

He started his career with Apple Computers providing eCommerce consultancy to a fledgling industry that was on the cusp of massive expansion. During this time he worked with core members of the Apple team, in the company’s  UK and San Francisco offices. This unique position gave him a firsthand insight into understanding what a massive impact the internet was going to have on individuals and the business world.

He put this knowledge into practice in 1998 by co founding kitbag.com which grew, under his stewardship, into the internet’s leading online sportswear retailer and provided managed solutions to major football clubs, associations and sports brands. Strategic partners included Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and FIFA and marketing deals were secured with such luminaries as Sky Sports, Coca Cola, Gillette and Amex.

His commercial expertise coupled with his excellent management skills allow him to see and take advantage of business opportunities that may not be apparent to others. He has used this ability to great effect as founder and managing director of Evolve Retail Limited. The company provides interim eCommerce consultancy to businesses wishing to define, develop, implement and operate a successful online retail business.

Companies such as Reebok, Gul, Jones Bootmaker, Marie Chantal, ATS Euromaster, Biffa and Jigsaw have called upon Evolve Retail’s extensive experience to create a successful and profitable online presence.

The sheer variety of business sectors that Chris has been successful working within typify how effective his approach to selling over the internet is. There are many key elements that need to harmonise in order for a company to  flourish online and these include areas such as budget control, marketing, strategic planning, traffic analytics, customer conversion and increasing profit margins. Chris has a intuitive understanding of these factors that have enable  him to bring a set of very special skills to any boardroom.

His recent and ongoing role at Jigsaw Ltd, as interim Group eCommerce director, has seen this well known high street clothing brand have its eCommerce department completely restructured resulting in a tripling of sales. The system that is now in place is not only robust but is geared for change in the ever evolving online retail market.

This type of project is one that suits Chris well as it plays to his strengths of being able to recognise where online opportunities lay and to then optimise the operation for the maximum benefit for his client. It is this energetic and proactive approach that has continually ensured that any assignment that he has undertaken is pursued with verve and enthusiasm.
