Established in 1860 as the original Whitby Jet shop, W.Hamond has been a longstanding part of the Whitby community where it first opened its doors. Since then as well as several other stores there has been the launch of the website offering the often bespoke pieces of Whitby Jet jewellery to all.
The Brief
To drive additional traffic, improve sales conversion and generate sales throughout the year, including detailed planning for seasonal acitivty. Identify new online partners to drive traffic to the shop that meet the demographic profile for the product. Work with an outsourced technology partner to improve the user journey using analytical data to improve sales conversion and basket value.
What We Did
The task was to replicate their range of products and seasonal campaigns online to directly reflect the high street store and advertising campaigns.
Key elements that we focused on were;
- Selecting new partners to raise awareness and increase traffic for the online store.
- Review the site usability and recommend improvements to increase sales conversion and basket value, leading to the launch of a new look website with a larger product offering.
- Provide an interim outsourced online shop manager operating the day to day task required to acquire and retain customers.
